As you might have heard, some people with Medicare Cost plans in Minnesota will need to choose a new Medicare plan for 2019. Burgau Insurance is here to help you through this transition.
Medicare Cost Plans are hybrid Medicare plans that share features from Medicare Advantage and Medigap supplemental insurance plans. They’re offered by private insurance companies to consumers in 15 states and the District of Columbia. About 535,000 Cost Plan enrollees, with more than 400,000 living in Minnesota, will be affected when the plans go away in designated counties at the end of 2018.
Will my Medicare Cost plan go away next year?
Based on a federal law starting Jan. 1, 2019, some Medicare Cost plans will not continue. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) set these new rules:
People living in the counties in blue will not be able to keep their Medicare Cost Plan in 2019.
